When Photos Speak

There are photographs we admire, and then there are photographs that somehow hold us in place. Not because they are technically perfect. Not only because of light, composition, or subject. Something else happens. Something quieter. More personal.
In this short video Tomasz Trzebiatowski Editor of Frame magazine, talks about why one image stop us, while another one disappears almost instantly?

Thanks for sharing this, Glenn. We can't control the backstories or emotions of other viewers. We can learn better techniques, but the questions that our work evokes may be different for different viewers. His suggestion to evoke questions rather than make statements is well taken. And we can be pleased with our work without always needing to please others.

Yes, this is terrific, Glenn. Thanks for sharing it with us. Improving our photography should be a lifetime goal, and we should take wise critiques seriously, but please yourself first!

Thanks for sharing this. It resonated with the "why" I want to take photos.
