We have interest in a field trip to Henricus Park and Dutch Gap Wildlife preserve. Let's plan on Saturday October 3rd. Meet for lunch at 12Noon At River Bend Grill, Chester VA. The drive is 1 1/2 hours from Charlottesville. How about we meet up in the GIANT Parking lot at Pantops at 10:15AM for those who would like to Car Pool. Admission is free and re-enactors will be present Waterfowl should be beginning to return to the preserve from up North. There are nice trails down to the estuary. There are platforms off the road for viewing.. for us mobility impaired folks. So I'm planning on good weather. If we see rain in the picture when can put it off a week or two. Please email me at stankaslusky@comcast.net to express your interest and allow me to keep you up to date.
This county attraction is an extremely well done reconstructed settlement of the 1600's village created by those who left Jamestown for better conditions. Buildings are authentic and reenactors tell stories. Think Frontier Culture Museum cir. 1650. I can arrange for .lunch together and possible get we special access though its never really busy The park also abuts State Wildlife preserve with ducks, eagles ospreys in the tributary.

Yes. I was there about 10 years and I have been thinking about going back. Lots of photo opportunities.
I'm interested.
Definitely interested!
Stan, thank you for the suggestion. It looks like a very interesting site! I would be interested and could probably make it after Sep. 23rd.
That's a fun spot! Good trails around it as well.
Stan,
I'm interested.
