Reflections

Reflections offer opportunities to create symmetry, abstraction, depth, and visual interest in your photos. For this assignment, use natural or artificial reflective surfaces to capture scenes creatively. Reflective surfaces can include more than just water. Experiment with windows, mirrors and metallic surfaces. Look for symmetrical reflections or highly distorted ones; try different perspectives to create something unusual.

Corey Hilz is our judge this month. Corey is enthusiastic about sharing his knowledge. He helps others improve their photography through group and private instruction. Corey's instruction enables photographers to improve their images technically and artistically. Corey is a published author, and his work is seen in magazines, books, calendars, and catalogs. His photographs are also found in exhibits and private collections. Corey has written six books, including two books on digital workflow and the first book dedicated to Lensbaby. Corey goes beyond the documentary image, looking for fresh perspectives and the decisive moment. He strives to share the beauty of a destination you’ve never seen, as well as a new view on the familiar.
